Prairie dogs!

Boy, do I love them! I saw my first prairie dig at Devils tower in Wyoming. There were more in the Badlands of South Dakota, but we didn't have time to see them. Along the way we stopped at Deadwood and Keystone, old gold mining towns now turn tourist resorts. Then onto Mount Rushmore.

We've been driving for a few days now to catch up to our final destination. In the next two days we will pass through Iowa, Missouri and Kentucky. Next stop should be Mammoth Cave and Rick's awaited Louisville Slugger museum.

Goodnight.

Arches

Utah is hot. Moab is hot. The desert is hot. I got to see Arches National Park all from the window of our RV. It was really neat. This is the last stop before we shove on to the Great Plains. We'll be driving a day or two to Devils Tower in Wyoming. There will be more driving now that we are out of all the canyons and mountains.

Here's a picture of me and Brenda at Arches today.

I wasn't into this photo so much.

I'm road worthy.

My best friend.

Two Days of Rain, Monument Valley, and Mesa Verde

Rain and thunder. We were in Arizona at the Grand Canyon, and it was raining. Then we drove to Colorado and it rained. However, the second day was spotty. Brenda and Rick went to Monument Valley and Mesa Verde. No pets allowed, so I stayed in the RV. Mesa Verde are cave dwellings that ancient pueblo indians built 800 years ago. Brenda said it was so amazing.

Oh and I was in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah at the same time!

Grand Canyon thunderstorm.

Ranger Wolf at Mesa Verde. I heard he was awesome.

A Day in Zion

Today we drove the rest of Nevada into Utah. Ended up camping in Zion under the Watchman. There are giant red sandstone formations all over, and it's very beautiful and very hot. Brenda and Rick hiked for a few hours then came back for dinner.

The Little A'le'Inn

We are mostly on the road today. Finally left the state of California and we are now heading through Nevada.

By night fall we drove the Extraterristral Highway. Night time in the desert is kind of scary. We ended up camping at the Little A'le'Inn. A weird, but fun little tourist spot dedicated to UFOs. We didn't encounter any.

More tomorrow.

Yosemite and the first days of camping

What an adventure so far. I'm not so sure about this camping thing, but I've seen so many new animals. Mostly deer, new birds and lots of hikers.

Our first night, we got a little lost come to Yosemite. So we had to pull over and sleep on the side of the road. We were all so exhausted. The next morning we woke up early to get into Yosemite valley. I saw El Capitan and Half Dome. Rick and Brenda took a hike to Taft Point while I took a deserved nap.

Today they went horseback riding and saw a bear! Tomorrow we head out to Nevada.
